Soon Eliah and Matilde find themselves at the center of a geopolitical nightmare, and not only is their love at risk, but their very lives. Florencia Bonelli 4. With an unhealthy attraction, their romance explodes. Little did Eliah and Matilde know that their lives have a A very rich, powerful, mercenary and Saudi prince meets humanitarian, pediatric surgeon on a plane to Paris and they become completely Obsessed with each other..
Little did Eliah and Matilde know that their lives have already have been intertwine by lies, deceit, and very deadly political games. I'm going to tell you right off the bat, I'm very conflicted about this book.
So, I'll start with my issues Every time I thought I'd find something redeeming about him, he ended up digging himself deeper into highly dislike character category. I finally found an alpha that pushed me over the edge of too much. Matilde is going to the Congo, one of the worst, unstable countries in the world but she can't handle some of the circumstances that arise in Paris. I also wasn't crazy with Matilde's acceptance of Eliah mental mistreatment and his desire for force a negative reaction from her.
I can not see Matilde supposed inner strength that was reiterated to us throughout the story. What I adored The story was extremely complex with a vast amount of interwoven characters and plots that masterfully come together into a brilliantly designed story line. Florencia Bonelli highly descriptive writing, making you feel like you are right there in the center of each and every scene as it takes place.
I really didn't like the main characters but was thrilled by the story that surrounded them. I was utterly intrigued by the combination of history, current political situations and the fictitious twist created Bonelli. White knuckled suspense with a shocking open ending, Obssesion couldn't help but capture the mystery thriller lover in me.

Her father is an ex-con who squandered the vast family fortune and is now a ruthless arms dealer to terrorists. She's going to paris for a couple of weeks to learn french and then go to the congo.
She's almost positive the congo is in africa. That's okay. She'll figure it out because she just wants to help the helpless children of the helpless world on our helpless planet. The hero: a wealthy, jaded, hairy, soldier-for-hire who is a saudi prince, wears expensive cologne, speaks 10 languages, is friends with nobel prize winning writers and has a sprawling horse farm outside paris replete with live-in japanese martial art sensei.
This works for James Bond. And Jason Bourne had a lot of shirts too, right? And Bonelli said she loves The Bronze Horseman. So I chanced it. Zoot alors! Where is an arms dealer when you need one? It will be one of my top 5 books of all-time favorites It is the first book in a trilogy and I wish I had done my research on it first, befor reading it.
All three novels have been published Spanish but, only the first one has just been released in English kindle format this month.
The second book will be released in English kindle format on January 21st, So, that's really great news! Hopefully, the third book will This novel was incredible! Hopefully, the third book will be released in English that year as well. Loved this Epic Romance! What a great journey through the lives of Eliah and Matilde! It started with tension and ended with the same and in between the story of these two surprisingly likeable people captured me.
Although quite cliched and vaguely disconnected on some occasions, the structuring of this book was very good. This was for two reasons, one, was simply Eliah. Somehow, the Hero is a super-spy-merc-hot-guy who is quite the family man, this I liked because the a 5 stars for this story, it was a captivating read!
Somehow, the Hero is a super-spy-merc-hot-guy who is quite the family man, this I liked because the author very skillfully made Eliah not so much of an isolated fighting machine as spy heroes often are, and in doing so humanized him for me, made him more real. They need that, in my opinion. The action suspense part of the book made little impact on me, there was a lot going on, but I would not read this book for espionage thriller suspense with chases and gunfights. This is not that story.
The best part of this book for me was not in getting history lessons either, it was in the high-strung powerful relationship that these two very different people were trying to have. There was a lot of dialogue in this book and it was sometimes bumpy because it was clear this is a translation, in trying to stay true to the moment or the expressions of the original, sometimes the nuances of English that would have been helpful, were missing.
Nevertheless, this book charmed me for its novelty in the setting, the characters, perhaps not so much the passionate romance, but definitely for intriguing me enough to want to read the continuation. I recommend this book and am anticipating the next one.

I'm counting 15 people that have been introduced into the story so far and about have some immediate connection to our two lovers. I never thought I would ever type this or say this abo I really want to give this book 4 stars or maybe 3.
I never thought I would ever type this or say this about a book before but there are waaayy too many details in this story. Too much unnecessary background info about people that are introduced for like a millisecond and them poof! By then I've already forgotten all about them.
It takes away from the love affair. It has gotten to the point where I just skip whole passages until I come across one of the main characters names. I want to finish this book, but damn it's starting to feel like homework which is a shame because when I started I was so hooked from the very first paragraph. The writing is great, but I feel like I'm reading two stories at the same time.
It's just not meshing together well enough for me. View 1 comment.
