Post a Comment. This article was very interesting, I felt so much pity for Anne Roiphe's mother. To live a life of unhappy marriage must have been hell. Given that in that time, divorce was still considered to be a taboo and also woman's rights were still in their developing stage.
Post a Comment. I found this article to be very interesting because of the two views she puts down. The first was about her parents and how their marriage was not working out but the mother was too afraid to leave her father. Ironically the same exact thing happened to her marriage but she was not afraid to leave her husband. I find her argument to be very true because the person that is most effected by disfunctional family's are the children. Because of the fact that the kid's physiological state is developing and still in process, all the pressure that they feel effects them in the long term. Either way their is no right or wrong answer but a marriage works out the best when the parents communicate and let each other know how they feel, that is one of the most important aspects in a relationship.
