If you try to fix it you can get hurt. How might this be a good thing in disguise? Feb 13, Taunya rated it really liked it. I'm admittedly a sucker for quotes and sayings and cool graphics, so that's why I bought this book. Just looking at the cover makes me happy. And I'm all about simple because that's pretty much all my brain can process right now.
Examples: "Think of yourself as being negative-thought intolerant. Just as drinking dairy is bad for the lactose intolerant, thinking negatively is bad for you! If you want to be anxious, live in the future. If you want to be peaceful, live in the now.

This is a book of memes. Actual picture book memes. I don't know what's worse: that someone published this or that I "read" it. I outgrew picture books decades ago. I was expecting more tidbits of happiness advice and quotes for inspiration than what seemed like page filler pictures.
The book comes across more like someone's personal Things That Make Me Smile Tumblr than an actual guide book for others to utilize. Feb 01, Melanie Frenette rated it it was amazing. This is a fun little book. If you want to call it a book.

Book Review: Instant Happy Journal by Karen Salmansohn
My friend Brian and I used to work together for this terrible company. As a joke one day I suggested we start playing the glad game, a la Pollyanna….. Silly as it was, it did make a difference to find a little something to be happy or smile about, even if it was ridiculous. I was drawn to the idea of this book because I found in my first few months of the big move to California, I was prone to focus on the bad things, the frustrating things, and the generally negative things. For me this is all about planning ahead for the life you want to live, and examining what in your life is dead weight. This one is easy.
